Commerce Chamber commence membership Drive

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCC) has launched a membership engagement drive

The initiative is themed ‘know the member better 2023’ –  an initiative to support members’ operations, needs, and challenges for the betterment of a conducive business environment.

In this regard, KNCCI president Richard Ngatia led a section of the KNCCI secretariat to visit Camco Equipment Kenya Limited.

Said Ngatia: “We are impressed with the amount of effort being into this project.

“We have a plan to grow businesses in Kenya with support from President William Ruto. For this to happen, there is a need to look at and tap into other opportunities More business opportunities translate to more employment chances for our youth.”

The chamber strives to support its members through various engagements to emulate the rallying cry ‘Growing your business together’ To support Business Growth.

The expansion drive comes days after Ngatia was appointed a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Following the appointment, Kenya’s president Dr William Ruto led Kenyans in congratulating him.

“We congratulate the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its chairman Richard Ngatia for the appointment co-option into the International Chamber of Commerce. This is instrumental as we prepare to host the Kenya International Conference in March 2023,” tweeted president Ruto who is the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry patron.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC; French: Chambre de commerce internationale) is the largest, most representative business organization in the world.

It has over 45 million members in more than 100 countries who have interests spanning every sector of private enterprise.

ICC is currently chaired an the Vice Chairman at General Atlantic, an Indian-American business executive Ajaypal Singh Banga and a global business leader and international advisor on policy and a legal expert on international trade and investment Australian John W.H. Denton AO is the current Secretary General.

ICC has three main activities: rule setting, dispute resolution, and policy advocacy. Because its member companies and associations are themselves engaged in international business, ICC has unrivalled authority in making rules that govern the conduct of business across borders.

ICC supports the work of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and many other intergovernmental bodies, both international and regional, such as G20 on behalf of international business. ICC was the first organization granted general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and UN Observer Status.
