Dogo Aslay’s manager blames women, alcohol for singer’s dwindling fortunes

Legendary Bongo flava talent manager Said Fella claims women and alcohol are the main reason why bongo Dogo Aslay’s music career has taken a dip in recent years.

Fella, who scouted Dogo Aslay as a teenager, has said the singer has everything it takes to be successful but the pleasures of this world have become his bondage.

“Aslay talent is inborn unlike most artistes whose success is pegged on effort. However, Aslay’s downfall has been occasioned by his indulgences with the pleasure of the world. He got into this ‘adult stuff’ a little bit too early, I mean alcohol and women. People will say I am hating but I have seen this boy grow. He should go easy on these things and focus on his music, there is enough time to enjoy life,” Fella said.

The music executive turned politician scouted the 29-year-old Aslay while he was still a teenager and helped him break into the music scene.

Aslay made his entry in the music industry in 2011 at the age of 13 when he released his debut single Nakusemea which became a hit in East Africa.

Fella would later on have him team up with Enock Bella, Mbosso Khan and Beka Flavour to form Yamoto Band which was equally successful. The group later broke up with each going solo.

But even as a solo performer, Aslay continued to release hits and singles that did well.

However, in recent years his music career appears to have nosedived and Fella, who knows the boy all too well, says women and alcohol are to blame.
