Exclusive: Mr Tee’s viral hit ‘Digii 3’ set to make waves with Nigerian collabo

Rising Kenyan artiste Mr Tee, whose real name is Tony Junior Makale has in a recent exclusive interview with Nairobi News, dropped some exciting revelations about his upcoming release, ‘Digii 3’, leaving fans buzzing with anticipation.

The artiste, known for his infectious beats and candid lyricism, teased a collaboration with a prominent Nigerian artiste, promising a fusion that’s bound to set the music scene on fire.

“I am releasing ‘Digii 3’ featuring a Nigerian artiste,” Mr Tee disclosed, setting the stage for what seems to be a groundbreaking partnership.

“He’s a big deal in the industry and someone who has been helping me push the song ‘Digii’. Nigerians push the song a lot.”

Mr Tee’s decision to team up with a Nigerian artiste stems from his admiration for their unwavering support and vibrant energy.

“Nigerians are very outgoing, and when they decide they want to support you, they usually do so big,” he explained.

“Now, like the guy I am collaborating with on ‘Digii 3’, he’s a big TikToker in Nigeria. So after seeing how he pushed for my song, I reached out to him and offered him the chance to do a remix together, and he was down for it because the song is a hit in Nigeria.”

The genesis of ‘Digii’ traces back to Mr Tee’s high school days, where he initially penned the track. Despite garnering early acclaim on social media, he shelved the song temporarily due to a lack of focus.

“I wrote ‘Digii’ when I was in high school, and then posted it on Instagram and guys really loved it but I deleted it eventually because I was not focused.”

However, a resurgence of interest in late 2023 prompted him to revisit the track, leading to its eventual release. “I never expected it to blow the way it did,” Mr Tee admitted. “I just thought it would be a regular song that people would vibe to.”

One of the most intriguing aspects of ‘Digii’ lies in its juxtaposition of explicit lyrics with a visually captivating music video.

Mr Tee revealed that the intention behind this creative decision was to subvert expectations and create a space where audiences could comfortably enjoy the song despite its edgy content.

“The song is dirty, but with the video, we wanted to go the opposite way of what people expected,” he shared. “We figured that if we did our marketing differently, we would actually captivate audiences and make them comfortable enough to want to see and enjoy the video.”

With ‘Digii 3’ on the horizon, fans can expect a continuation of Mr Tee’s signature style coupled with the infectious energy brought by his Nigerian collaborator.

The synergy between these two talents promises to deliver a track that transcends borders and leaves an indelible mark on the global music landscape.
