Quack doctor accorded grand homecoming by his kinsmen after release from custody
Fake doctor Ronald Melly was over the weekend given a grand homecoming fit for a king by villagers at his home in Tinderet in Nandi County.
The 28 year old was arrested on November 21 in Nairobi for practicing medicine without qualifications.
He pleaded not guilty to the four charges levelled against him, among them forgery of documents, using the title doctor despite not being registered or licensed, and impersonation of a medical officer. He has was later released on a Sh500,000 bond.

However, in a twist of events, residents from his home village celebrated his release with cheers oblivious of the seriousness of the matter.
Despite being unqualified, a report by the Health ministry has revealed that Mr Melly performed eight surgeries at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital when he worked at the facility.
