Get well soon! Why Chipukeezy is in hospital


Kenyan comedian Chipukeezy has been admitted at Nairobi Hospital with stomach complications.

News of Chipukeezy’s ill health have been made public by his close friend Dennis Itumbi, raising concern among the comedian’s friends and fans.

According to Itumbi, Chipukeezy was admitted in hospital on Tuesday and he underwent a series of tests.

Itumbi said Chipukeezy’s progress has been excellent so far but the comedian is expected to undergo more tests.

“He is likely to spend more time in the hospital. We will keep Kenyans updated,” Itumbi said.

In a recent interview with Nairobi News, Chipukeezy hinted that he had been battling with health challenges for a while and had been undergoing regular checkups.

Due to his ill health, Chipukeezy has now postponed an event to celebrate his 10 years in the entertainment industry, which had been slated for August 5 at Mt Kenya University’s main campus in Thika.

The comedian’s brother, speaking on his behalf on social media conveyed a heartfelt message to Chipukeezy’s fans and supporters.

“Due to this unprecedented, unavoidable, and overwhelming health situation, we regrettably have to postpone Chipukeezy’s upcoming decade celebratory event to a later date, which will be communicated in due course after he fully recuperates,” the brother said.

Itumbi, during a media briefing, said his friendship with Chipukeezy goes way back to the beginning of the comedian’s career.

He said they have since collaborated on numerous projects, from supporting Chipukeezy’s school project to working together on Harambe initiatives aimed at enhancing the school’s facilities.
