How working out helped improve Corazon Kwamboka’s mental health

Socialite Corazon Kwamboka has revealed how her regular gym workouts have positively impacted her mental well-being. Corazon shared that her consistent exercise routine not only made her feel great about herself but also enhanced her physical appearance, something she deeply values.

In a post on her Instagram, the mother of two noted that gymming was not all about getting muscles but a reinforcement to her mental health.

She wrote, “The gym has definitely improved my mental health! That is why I don’t care when people say I have been working out for years without any muscles! I do for how it makes me feel not how it makes me look! And I’ll never miss a nice prepared meal.”

Last year, Kwamboka revealed that she was suffering from depression and had been hospitalized as a result. While she had planned for the matter to be private, it somehow found its way to blogs forcing her to publicly talk about it.

“Yes, I have struggled with depression. What I am going through is not easy and I am not the only one who has gone through it. One day when I heal I’ll address just to encourage and give strength to another woman who feels how I feel,” she wrote.

Additionally, she urged Kenyans to quit the jokes about depression stating that anyone could go through it and is not an avenue for sympathy or attention seeking.

“I’m here to tell you that depression is not a joke and it’s not the same as feeling sad. It’s literally something that affects your brain and stops you from seeing any good in your life. And if you’re depressed please seek help. Don’t give up.”

After the birth of her firstborn son, Corazon admitted that she had gone through a tough period. “I found myself crying for no reason, banging doors, and throwing myself on the floor, every small thing would trigger me to go nuts as if the food did not have enough salt. I had such a hard time, Frankie tried, I mean he really tried to make it easier but I was just pushing him away,” she revealed.
