“The creative economy is a result of empowered youth. It will be allowed to thrive and be given all the support in our administration. I met Ivy Chelimo, the ‘Riggy G’ brand initiator, who paid me a courtesy call in my office and later accompanied us to World Food Day in Kajiado County “DP Gachagua said.

Ms. Chelimo, who accompanied the DP, said she was excited about the promise.

“Thank you Mr Deputy, you offered me a job this morning, and he is very passionate about the youth taking up places in this government,” Ms. Chelimo said.

She added that DP Gachagua challenged the youth to take over leadership and not to buy into the saying that youth are the leaders of tomorrow.

When he learned about it, the DP welcomed the name Riggy G, saying it was a good name after all.

He had earlier directed his two sons to find and bring Ms. Chelimo to him for a reward.

Ms. Chelimo had said that she was not expecting Riggy G’s name to grow to the extent being used by the Deputy President.

Even during the government function, just like the recent visit of President William Ruto and his deputy to Kirinyaga to launch the Thiba Dam, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru used the name Riggy G while ushering the DP to the stage.

In his recent visit to Rwanda for a youth event, the DP challenged the youth in Africa to rise up and participate in the country’s politics.
