Kasarani tout stabbed to death in CBD in fight over passenger
Police in Nairobi have launched investigations after a man lost his life after being stabbed by another.
The two men who work as touts that belong to different matatu saccos that operate on the same routes had a dispute over space to pick up passengers heading to the Kasarani route.
According to the police, an argument ensued, which saw Jairus Nyutu Nuthu, 31, bleed to death after being stabbed in the neck.
The assailant, who police believe works for a Sacco operating on the Nairobi-Mwiki-Kasarani route, fled the scene and is yet to be arrested.

Witnesses at the scene said that the altercation escalated to violence when one of the touts grabbed a knife from a nearby hawker selling eggs and smokies and used it to stab his colleague.
According to police reports, the assailant had been following his colleague for some distance before initiating the fight that led to the stabbing.
After stabbing the deceased, the attacker is said to have dropped the weapon and escaped the scene leaving him fatally wounded.
“No arrests have been made yet, and efforts to locate the assailant are ongoing,” police said in their report.
The murder weapon was recovered at the scene, and the deceased body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, a female trader is reported to have died on Tuesday, October 10, morning after she was stabbed in the neck by suspected thugs in Nyama Villa estate, Embakasi Central.
Witnesses said that the woman was stabbed severally just as she left her house early in the morning.
Three thugs on a motorbike are said to have attacked the woman before attempting to escape.
The commotion and screams from the victim are said to have attracted residents who blocked sections of the estate as they pursued the suspects as they tried to escape.
Another group of boda boda riders parked in the area blocked the fleeing thugs.
One of them was caught and beaten to death before being lynched together with his motorcycle.
A second one is said to have run and hid himself inside a brothel. The police are said to have combed the brothel after being called and reportedly arrested him while the third suspect managed to escape.
The unidentified woman died from her wounds as she was being rushed to the nearby Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.
