Officer arrested after picking minor from police cell and defiling her

A police in Narok County has been arrested after he allegedly picked up a female juvenile, took her to his house where he defiled her for the whole night.

In a report seen by Nairobi News, the officer identified as Mr Anthony Leteipa allegedly picked up the 16-year-old minor from Sakuteik Police Station cells and took her to his house within the station’s compound.

The minor had been detained alongside another minor in case of children in need of care and protection and were scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday, December 5, 2022.

In the morning, around 6am, the police officer returned the victim inside the police cell, the police report states.

It is then a team of police officers led by the Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Narok Police Station was dispatched to Sakutiek Police Station where the incident allegedly took place.

Both the minor and the police officer were first taken to Narok Police Station before they were later taken to Narok Referral Hospital.

“The police officer has been arrested and put in custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday the December 5, 2022,” the report further read.

This incident comes after a similar in which a man who allegedly defiled his daughter as she was receiving treatment at a local hospital in Kakamega County.

The suspect was arrested on December 3, 2022 over the incident which is reported to have occurred when the daughter, 10, was admitted at the Navakholo Hospital.

Navakholo Sub-County police boss Richard Omanga said the suspect committed the heinous act on Saturday, November 26.
