Ruger to headline Shoke Shoke Festival
Shoke Shoke Festival, the green arm of ‘Mwanaume Ni Effort’, is set to return with a bang after the resounding success of its debut event.
Shoke Shoke 2.0, themed “funstenance” will take place at Uhuru Gardens on July 29, 2023.
The highly anticipated festival will feature Nigerian sensation Ruger as the official headlining act, accompanied by a stellar lineup of Kenyan artistes including Wakadinali, Kahush, and Lordwin, with G-Money, CNG, Dream, and Nick Dee as the trusted DJs.
Following the remarkable success of the debut festival, it comes as no surprise that Shoke Shoke 1.0, featuring Ayra Starr, trended in the top three on Google Trends. The inaugural festival attracted over 5,000 enthusiastic concertgoers, garnered 20 million views for its TikTok challenges, trended as the number one topic on Kenyan Twitter in March, and facilitated the planting of 8,000 trees. In line with its commitment to environmental conservation, Shoke Shoke has once again partnered with Miti Alliance and pledged to plant one tree for each ticket sold, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability.
Ruger has swiftly risen to prominence since bursting onto the music scene. With a series of chart-topping hits that have resonated with fans worldwide, Ruger’s breakout single, “Bounce,” catapulted him into the spotlight, amassing millions of streams across various digital platforms. His infectious rhythm, energetic vibe, and unique sound have quickly endeared him to music lovers, making him a fan favorite in Kenya. Ruger’s upcoming performance at Shoke Shoke Festival will mark his third visit to Kenya, solidifying his bond with his Kenyan fan base.
Reflecting Kenya’s love for rap, gengetone, and drill music, Shoke Shoke Festival has curated a lineup of the country’s biggest acts. Joining Ruger on stage, artists such as Wakadinali, and Kahush will captivate the audience with their show-stopping performances. As the festival approaches, fans can anticipate additional exciting additions to the lineup, ensuring a diverse and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
