Ruto left in stitches after man carrying a baby interrupts his speech
In a rather hilarious incident, President William Ruto’s speech at a public function in Mombasa on Friday was momentarily interrupted by man with a baby strapped on his back.
The president was left in stitches by the incident that happened as he was giving his speech during the launch of Taifa Gas in Dongo Kundu.
The man attempted to reach the president but was restrained even as the president asked him to take his seat and see him later.

“Wee, wacha huyo jamaa… ataniona baadaye. Akae tu chini… ukiona jamaa amebebeshwa mtoto mgongoni, ujue ako na shida kweli. Matatizo yake sio madogo. Yeye angonje hapo…,” the president said off the cuff amid fits of laughter.
The crowd could also be heard laughing.
This is not the first time President Ruto’s speech has been interrupted in such a manner. In October 2022, as the president was addressing mourners at the burial of DP Rigathi Gachagua’s brother, Jack Reriani, a woman interrupted his speech.
The woman, who was latter identified as Lucy Wangui, wanted the Head of State to help her with Sh400,000 to facilitate her son’s trip to the US.

“Nimefika mwisho, nataka kukuona, nataka kuona mama wa taifa” she shouted.
In another incident in Kirinyaga County on the same month, a man in a crowd sought audience with the Head of State by shouting at the top of his voice claiming that he was in possession of a Covid-19 vaccine.
“Mr President, I have a Covid-19 vaccine, I have a Covid vaccine,” he shouted repeatedly as the crowd burst into laughter.
