Sonko: No alcohol in Ruto’s inner circle
Mike Sonko suggests President William Ruto’s close circle does not consume alcohol.
The controversial politician, via a post on social media, explained he’s shed off weight since he started hanging out with politicians allied to the Head of State so much that his clothes fit him well.

Sonko adds that he’s grateful that President Ruto’s company will help him reduce his consumption of alcohol.
He further shared a photo on social media claiming the clothes he was wearing at the time could barely fit him sometime back when he regularly consumed alcohol.
“My belly has decreased. Imagine I was not able to fit into these trousers and t-shirt some time back. But look, they now fit me well. I even use a belt. Thanks to the concoction I am taking and to President Ruto’s government. His government has helped us reduce our uptake of alcohol,” said Sonko.
The statement comes a few days after Sonko, who formerly served as Nairobi governor, hinted at his intent to quit the bottle.
Sonko is not only known as a party animal but also owns a number of entertainment spots in the country including the Volume VIP club in Mombasa.
On October 9, he shared a photo of himself taking tea alongside Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other politicians.
The current scenario is a new experience for Sonko who once claimed he was served alcohol during a visit to State House during former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s reign.
