Why your Twitter logo looks different

Twitter users were left confused when the logo of the social media giant changed to a picture of a Shiba Inu, the dog breed associated with the popular internet meme, DogeCoin.

The change was noticed by users on Monday and was followed by a meme tweeted out by Elon Musk, the company’s billionaire owner.

Musk has not explained the reason for the change, but some speculate that it was intended to be an April fool’s day gag.

The new logo, which was changed to the top right corner of the Twitter browser window, has caused speculations among users, some of whom believe it was an inside joke by Twitter’s founder, while others think it was a hack.

However, DogeCoin’s value rose by 25% in the last hour, showing the change’s impact on the crypto market.

This comes as Musk announced a new system that would force individuals and organizations to pay for their blue ticks, verifying users’ authenticity on the platform.

The prices will be €1,140 (Ksh 164826) per month with a supplementary €60 (Ksh 8675) per month per verified employee or affiliate.

Elon Musk has had a tumultuous tenure as the owner of Twitter, with his market-moving tweets causing controversy while also laying off half of Twitter’s workforce.

The change of Twitter’s logo to DogeCoin’s dog has left many wondering whether it was a joke by Musk or a hack.

Twitter replaced its iconic blue bird logo with the image of a shiba inu associated with Dogecoin, a popular cryptocurrency featured in viral memes.
