Man in court for inflicting life threatening injuries on his mother’s lover
A 23-year-old man in Nairobi who allegedly stabbed his mother’s lover is facing charges of causing grievous harm contrary to section 234 of the penal code.
At the Makadara Law Courts, the suspect was charged with inflicting life threatening injuries to the complainant at Harmony Area within Kariobangi South Estate in Nairobi on May 4, 2023.
The suspect, who works at a light industry in Kariobangi, is said to have confronted the victim at his cereals shop where they engaged in a fight before he took a knife and allegedly stabbed him.

The victim sustained a deep cut in the stomach and was admitted at the Kenyatta national Hospital (KNH) for three weeks.
Apparently, the accused person was unhappy with the complainant over what he termed as an illicit affair with his mother.
During investigations into the incident, the suspect told the police that the victim has been ridiculing him for having been abandoned by his father.
The victim is a cousin to the suspect’s absentee father.

The suspect also told investigators that he only wanted to know the relationship between his mother and the victim before the matter degenerated into a fight between them.
The suspect denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Mary Njagi. He was freed on a bond of Sh120,000.
The case will be mentioned on July 31, 2023 before hearing starts on December 20, 2023. The offence of causing grievous harm is punishable by life imprisonment.
