‘No drama…perhaps some tears – Real Housewives of Nairobi cast
The much-anticipated second season of “The Real Housewives of Nairobi” is set to premiere on May 10, exclusively on Showmax.
This season promises a shift towards a less dramatic portrayal of the lives of Nairobi’s elite women.
New cast members Zena Nyambu and Reja Keji Ladu recently engaged with fans in a live session, addressing questions and setting the tone for the upcoming season.
Responding to queries about the expected drama, the duo emphasised that the focus of the show is to showcase the lives and stories of the women involved, rather than sensationalizing conflicts.
“There won’t be drama. Expect moments of women coming together and perhaps some tears. It’s a wholesome show, so let’s not jump to conclusions,” clarified Zena and Reja.
Returning for this season are actress and entrepreneur Minne Kariuki, Socialite Vera Sidika, who is keen to reintroduce herself and business mogul Dr. Catherine Masitsa.
Joining the seasoned cast are new faces, including lawyer and professional bodybuilder Farah Esmail, beauty entrepreneur Zena Nyambu, and Reja Keji Ladu.
Zena Nyambu, a 41-year-old mother of two, is a multifaceted entrepreneur with interests in luxury skincare, interior design, and medical aesthetics. She runs several successful businesses, including Glamsquad Kenya and Zela Aesthetics.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Reja Keji Ladu, a mother of two and wife to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs of South Sudan, brings her unique blend of Ugandan and South Sudanese heritage to the show.
Based in Nairobi, Reja is the owner of the clothing brand Jenm and is set to launch a spa in South Sudan and a poultry farm in Nanyuki.
Executive producer Eugene Mbugua expressed excitement about the return of the show, stating:
“Over the years, D&R Studios has carved a niche in quality production of unscripted shows in Kenya. To be able to pull off a global format of this magnitude and have it renewed is something we’re very proud of as a company. In this new season, we’ll see a return of some familiar faces and a few new additions. We’re keen to bring out the opulence that Nairobi and Kenya have to offer while maintaining the excitement and intrigue that makes ‘The Real Housewives’ what it is.”
