Why Rayvanny congratulated pregnant ex-lover Paula in new song

Tanzanian musician Rayvanny dropped a new track, ‘Hongera’ celebrating expectant mothers, shortly after his ex-girlfriend Paula Kajala revealed her pregnancy.

Paula is currently in a relationship with singer Marioo, while Rayvanny is with his baby mama, Fahyma, after their previous breakup.

Addressing the timing of the song’s release, Rayvanny clarified that it wasn’t specifically for Paula but was inspired by his encounter with a pregnant woman on a flight.

“I was on a flight and there was a pregnant woman in it, and I kept thinking to myself that women go through a lot for our sake. When a woman decides to get pregnant, it’s not a small thing; women are the ones who give birth to us. I wanted to do a song to appreciate all women who are expectant and those who have already given birth,” he explained.

Despite the song’s timing coinciding with Paula’s pregnancy announcement, Rayvanny assured that there’s no animosity between him and Marioo.

“Marioo is like my family, Paula is pregnant, so I dedicate it to her just like I have dedicated it to other women,” he said.

Rayvanny also emphasised that he has moved on from his past relationship with Paula.

“There’s no hard feelings; I have no fight with Paula because I have my own family and my woman whom I love,” he added.

When asked about Fahyma’s reaction to the song, which could be perceived as a tribute to his ex, Rayvanny responded, “She knows I am a musician; I do music, so she understands.”

Marioo and Paulah took to their respective social media platforms to share the joyful news with their followers.

The ‘Mir Amor’ hitmaker, expressing his happiness, wrote on Instagram:

“Adding a new member to our squad! Soon Inshaalah 🙏🏾 Proud of you Malkia ❤️ @therealpaulahkajala Mungu akubariki wewe na Familia.”

Paula echoed the sentiment, stating, “Am having a baby with my baby 🥹❤️ From two to three 🧑‍🧑‍🧒.

The former WCB’s Rayvanny and Paula split in 2022.
