Betty Kyallo supports Vera Sidika, advises girls to own how they look and feel
Former prime-time TV queen Betty Kyallo took to social media on October 6, 2022, to encourage girls about body positivity amid the ongoing conversation in Kenya of popular influencers undergoing surgeries to alter their bodies.
She first posted a video of several big-boned women dancing while dressed skimpily, captioning it, “Love this! Thick girls matter.”
“Our young girls must know that it’s not about people’s perception of us. How we look, dress, and how thick or thin we are, whether light skin or darker.”

“They should know never to give power to strangers over how they feel about themselves,” added Betty.
Betty has been contributing to the body positivity conversation after socialite Vera Sidika took to social media on October 5, 2022, to announce that she had undergone surgery to remove implants that made her butt bigger and infamous.
She said she faced health complications and opted to save her life.

As Vera faced scorn and mockery, Kyallo was among the few who sympathized and encouraged Vera in her journey back to good health.
“I love brave women! You deserve to live your truth. You deserve a healthy life and a joyful one for that matter. I am clapping for you for being that courageous,” Betty told Sidika.
Kyallo has, in the past, also been body shamed by critics for dressing in a manner people felt did not match her body type.

She has a thick body as well but never shies away from wearing short shorts, bikinis and mini dresses to have a good time.
Despite her bold confidence, she also embarked on a weight loss journey and expressed joy on social media when she began shedding the kilos.
“This journey has taught me patience with myself, my body and overall self-love.
I feel so proud of myself because I feel super great these days. My skin is flawless. I don’t wake up tired. I’m energetic and happy.
These days I make sure to sleep for at least 6 hours, drink lots of water and eat clean.
I normally have some wine as I wind down my day but I make sure it’s the right kind. It’s been one and half months, now lost 3 kgs, one dress size down and I just simply feel light,” Betty once updated her followers.
