Saumu Mbuvi intimates how she got over heartbreaks from two baby daddies

The last two men Saumu Mbuvi, the eldest daughter of former Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, linked up with did not end well for her despite having children by them.

The first baby daddy, Ben Gatu, in 2017 after he allegedly cheated on her with another governor’s daughter back then, and Saumu opted to walk away from the relationship with their daughter in tow.

Nairobi News reported that Saumu later revealed she had battled depression after breaking up with Gatu and had been on antidepressant medication.

She had believed the relationship would culminate in marriage, but Gatu had other plans in mind.

Fast forward to February 2021, when she once again announced that she had broken up with her second baby daddy, former Lamu senator Anwar Loitiptip, claiming he was an abusive man who almost killed her in the act of violence.

He was also accused of infidelity, having been spotted in public with several different women, including a renowned Kenyan Instagram influencer who ‘snatched’ Anwar from Saumu only to be served the same violence people scoffed at in Saumu’s instance.

Saumu and Anwar had been together for a while and conceived a baby girl too.

On December 20, 2022, in an Instagram question and answer session, Saumu intimated how she got over her heartbreaks while answering a question on mental health from one of her followers.

“2022, how has your mental health (been?) the follower posed the question, to which Saumu responded by saying, “All I can say, so much growth- avoided negative people to preserve my energy, went back to the gym, I decided to let go of the pain that I had held on for too long, living my life in service of others; gave my life a bigger purpose, taking one day at a time as I trust God’s plan. All I can say is mental wellness is everything.”

She also told a follower who commented that her relationship is a turn-off at the moment that it was the “best decision you have made. Focus on you, your goals, ambition…having a man is not an achievement (of) love unless you want a trophy wife.”
