TV presenter: Rich ‘mubaba’ deceived me to quit my job, then he dumped me

Former Ramogi TV presenter Stella Brenda Ochieng has shared her regrets of falling in love and getting married to a rich ‘mubaba’.

Speaking on Simy Kenya’s luo podcast, the 35-year-old mother of two narrated how a 60-year-old swept her off her feet.

They say love has no age, it’s just a number and so Brenda saw no problem in falling in love with a man almost twice her age.

If anything, this man with deep pockets treated her to a life of opulence. The more he spoiled her with the finer things life has to offer, the more she fell in love with him.

So much so that she didn’t think twice about quitting her radio job to become a housewife when the man asked her to.

The man, who was well connected within the government, promised to pay her what she used to earn at the radio station, in addition to her upkeep. The two would then get married.

“I moved to Nairobi and married a 60-year-old man. I loved him. We stayed for two years but then we separated,” she said.

Brenda says she had just got a job at Lolwe TV when her ex-husband asked her not to take it because she was already pregnant with his child.

“I got a job at Lolwe TV and on my reporting day he showed up and asked me not to take the job because I was pregnant with our child. He asked how much I would earn and offered me the same for a few months. Then he stopped,” Brenda recounts.

She says life was good while their love blossomed.

“I enjoyed the life of a princess. I lived in Lang’ata and I used to be chauffeured around. Things took a dramatic turn when he kicked me out of his house on November 23, 2018,” Brenda recalls.

With nowhere to go and no plan, Brenda and her two children moved back to her parents’ house.
