Nameless, mum-in-law and Wahu shine together in a special family performance – WATCH
It was a heartwarming sight as celebrity couple Rosemary Wahu Kagwi and David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless, took the stage alongside their children – Tumi and Nyakio – and close family members for a special performance.
The occasion marked a unique moment for the family, further highlighted by Sai Pharmaceuticals Kenya Limited’s announcement naming the couple as the official brand ambassadors for the upgraded NipNap Premium Baby Diapers.
In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Wahu shared her excitement about having her mother join them on stage.
“It was an amazing experience to perform with my mum,” she said.
“I knew she was coming but I was concerned because she lives far but she said she wanted to go out. She travelled from far to attend the event with my brother and his wife, and they stayed throughout the performance. The last time she saw me perform was over 11 years ago at the MTV awards before my second born was born. Dancing with her on stage was precious, and it was the first time I had all my children on one stage.”
Reflecting on her journey in the music industry spanning over two decades, Wahu credited her passion for helping her navigate through challenging times.
“Music is my passion, and I love what I do,” she remarked.
“Understanding trends and adapting to change has been crucial. Platforms like TikTok are evolving, and it’s essential to keep up. Despite the ups and downs in my career, my passion has kept me going.”
When asked about her approach to working with corporate brands, Wahu emphasised staying true to her brand values.
“I prefer to keep things simple and avoid controversies,” she explained.
“Different celebrities have various strategies to trend, but I believe in being genuine.”
After taking a two-year break following the birth of her third child, Shiro, Wahu is back in the studio working on new music.
“When I got pregnant, my husband and I were working on an album, but Shiro was a beautiful surprise that changed our plans,” she shared.
“Now that my kids are my priority, I’m excited to be back in the studio writing music.”
Speaking about their collaboration with NipNap, Wahu expressed her delight, saying, “Partnering with NipNap has been a fantastic journey.
They supported our reality show, This Love, and we’ve built a strong relationship together. I’m thrilled to work with them.”
Speaking at the launch, Mr Rajiv Joshi the CEO of SPKL’s Hygiene Division said they were excited to partner with Nameless and Wahu as they rebranded.
“We conduct extensive testing to validate the safety, performance, and quality of our products, ensuring they far surpass industry standards. By incorporating customer feedback and leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we have meticulously refined every aspect to exceed expectations. For this partnership, we got the best in the industry.”
